OFF TO COLLEGE...

Matty started college for the summer quarter. He is now going to the Art Institute of Sacramento. He is going to have his BA degree in 3 years in Web page design and interactive media. I am so proud of him and so excited for him.

Below is all his supplies when he started school. Man he has a lot of stuff. Can't wait to see what he does with it all.
He is still working part time and living at home but the commute isn't too bad.

WENDI

Wendi has been busy working and got a little promotion. She is the DH (Department Head) over General Sports and all the workout equipment. It has been a little stressful but it has been good for her. She is still wanting to to go Utah so hopefully the job market will pick up soon and she will be able to find a job there. If that is where she is supposed to go. Anyone in Utah that knows of some good jobs let us know.

I AM BACK...AND I HAVE MISSED YOU.

We had a very busy summer.
I am back and can't wait to catch up.
Whew, so much to catch up on so I will need a little time.

WISDOM

Four things you can't recover:

The stone........after the throw.
The word.........after it's said..
The occasion........after it's missed.
The time...........after it's gone.

THE HOUSE THAT BUILT ME...

The house I was raised in and have the best memories. I have the best parents ever...and my siblings are pretty awesome too. I am so proud of where I came from and what I went through to become ME. I may not always be perfect and I my not have a lot but that is okay because I know I can always turn to my family. I also have the best husband and children!!

I know they say you can’t go home again
I just had to come back one last time
Ma’am I know you don’t know me from Adam
But these handprints on the front steps are mine

Up those stairs in that little back bedroom
Is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar
I bet you didn’t know under that live oak
My favorite dog is buried in the yard

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here it’s like I’m someone else
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could just come in I swear I’ll leave
Won’t take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

Mama cut out pictures of houses for years
From Better Homes and Gardens magazine
Plans were drawn and concrete poured
Nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama’s dream

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here it’s like I’m someone else
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could just come in I swear I’ll leave
Won’t take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

You leave home and you move on and you do the best you can
I got lost in this old world and forgot who I am

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here it’s like I’m someone else
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I walk around I swear I’ll leave
Won’t take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

*Thanks Lynn for sending me the pictures of the house.

LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL...

Jenna and Layla took a trip back east with a friend and her kids. While she was there she went to the Law Enforcement Memorial and looked up an old friend for us.
Layla running around enjoying life.
Running around where all the names are...
Our dear friend Larry Penrod
Larry was a friend of my parents, he went to church with us and was a great man who loved the youth and was always there for anyone who needed him. Larry was the one that got Pete and I together and I will always be so grateful for that. I know he is looking down on us and is so proud. I hope you are doing well Larry and I am sure you are visiting with my sweet mother.
Thanks again...I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

OUR NEW RIDES...

Pete and I finally broke down and bought new bikes...yay!! We have been wanting to for a while now and just took the plunge. We haven't been able to ride a lot because of the weather. Today ended up being a beautiful day. We went on the bike trail by our house and ended up following it to the other side of town. We had a great time. Wendi went with us but wouldn't let me take her picture.
We are looking forward to taking the bikes with us when we go camping and seeing if we can find some fun trails while we are there.

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says~~
"Oh Crap, She's up!"

BOWLING...

Our bowling season just ended, we had the best time and we ended up being in First Place!!
Yay, us!!!
Don, Pete, Jim and Eric...all cops and bowlers.
Nancy 3rd from left and her team
Patty, Nancy and myself
Patty, Jim and Nancy...getting ready to throw some strikes
At the end of year dinner. Bill and his wife
Maxine and Aaron on the left, cute little couple in their 80's...they live together and Aaron is so proud of that. It is so cute to watch them together and they are so fun to bowl with. Aaron used to be an awesome baseball player in his time.
Ron on the end there, he is retired CHP and used to be the helicopter pilot for the CHP. He reminds me a lot of my uncle Ron Erickson.
The Thompsons, there son Eric is an officer and works with Pete
Linda and her boyfriend...he reminds me of Sam Elliot.
We took first place...Patty, myself and Pete. Jim was in Reno on business.
Can't wait for next season.

ATTEMPTS AT PHOTOGRAPHY

I decided I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on graduation pictures when my kids were getting ready to graduate. So I used my camera and took them myself...they turned out pretty good and it saved me tons of money. Here are some of the ones I took of Matt. I ended up taking some pictures of my best friends daughter as well, here are some that I took of Breanne.
I just took some of my best friends son Matt and his fiance Becci.

I then was asked to take some of a friend of a friends son and his girl friend for graduation...
