THANKFUL THURSDAY

It has been a while since I have done "Thankful Thursday", it is not because I am not thankful, but because I have been so blessed with a job. I have been so busy with work and then keeping up with everything I have kind of let my blog go...well this is me trying to get back in the swing of things. I know it is not Thursday right now, but I just got off work and I needed to say thank-you.
I am thankful for:

The Sunshine: We had it for a few days and it felt so good. I know we need the rain and there are some people that are covered in snow. I was just so happy to see the sun, feel its warmth and soak up all the vitamins that it sent my way.
The words "CANCER FREE" Someone special to me was told those words after a biopsy, I was so worried about him but so happy when he called to tell me the good news. I was such a baby and cried, so much for being strong support. I just can't imagine not having him in my life. Even through the miles I know he will always be there for me. You rock dude, and I love you!!!
Fry Sauce: Yea, I know I can only get it in Utah but I am craving it bad...Even if the fries suck they taste better because of the sauce. I am anxiously waiting for our trip this summer cause this girl is eating at Arctic Circle and having some fry sauce. Yummy, bring it on!!!!
Feeling of Someone around: I was at work the other day sitting in the control room. It was kind of slow and not much going on, so it was quiet. I had this feeling come over me for just a few minutes. In my mind it came to me that my mom was there, just stopping by to say hi, I am good, wanted to check on you and I am still here watching over you. Then it was gone. I love when that happens, but I miss it when it is gone and no matter how hard I try I can't make it come back. I just have to remember to take time and listen because you never know when it is going to happen.

STILL THANKFUL...

I am thankful for:

Lake Tahoe getaways: We have had the opportunity to have a few days away at Lake Tahoe. It was so nice to just enjoy the water, weather and peacefulness. We all had a great time, whatever we were doing up there, even if it was just floating in the water.

Cameras: I love my camera!! I have always been a picture person and appreciate that I can take a photo to keep the memories alive.

Red Bull: I have sure had to use this lately. I am not a morning person and I DO NOT like getting up at 3:45 every morning for work. Oh well, what would I do without Red Bull.
Yummy!!!

Toe nail polish: I love to paint my toenails in the summer time. There are so many great colors, but what is funny is I usually pick the same 2 or 3 colors. I like to add little flowers too.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I am thankful for:

Get-a-ways: Pete and I were able to get away to Lake Tahoe for some R&R. It was so nice to get away and just spend some time together. (Pictures coming soon)

Hindsight: It is hard to understand why somethings happen, then it makes perfect sense when you can look back at it.

Brain rentention: I am amazed how much the human mind can absorb. Sometimes when I think my brain is going to explode from learning so much, it just keeps on learning and retaining. It actually feels like my brain is having a hangover...well if I knew what a hangover felt like. : )

I CAN'T GO ANOTHER WEEK...

without Thankful Thursday...
I am thankful for:

Safe Road Trips: Jen and Layla came to visit for a couple of weeks. We gave them the mini van as Matt was ready to buy himself a new car. So when it was time for them to go home, we loaded up the mini van. Matt drove back with Layla and Jen. They made it in 2 long days. They got to see some beautiful country. Layla was spoiled by grandma and grandpa with a DVD player so she could watch Elmo. We are so thankful they made it safely, with no accidents or car trouble. Matt had one day in Nebraska with them before he had to fly home. We miss them!!

Head On: I have been having some major sinus headaches. Thank goodness for Head On allergy. I don't know what I would do with out it. It really does work and I don't go anywhere without it. They also have extra strength, regular and for kids.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER....

I have had a busy couple of days and have not been able to get on the computer to update my blog...I have so much to be thankful for I wanted to make sure I keep this going even if it is a couple of days late.
I am thankful for:

Answered Prayers: Period!!!!

That I am employed: A year and a half being unemployed was awful. I hope with all the stuff going on we don't have lay offs! I also hope that I will not make any little mistakes like I did today...then my trainer makes me feel stupid, hopefully there is a reason behind that and it is not to make him feel better about himself. Dang, I wish I would not be so nervous or intimidated and just do it!!

IT FEELS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY IT WAS THURSDAY...

I am thankful for:

Music: While commuting I think I would go nuts if I didn't have music to listen to. I listen to all kinds of music, but...I don't like rap...and country is my favorite. It just depends on what mood I am in for what I want to listen to. But thank goodness for music.

Awesome treadmill test: We are so blessed with the results from Pete's treadmill test. What a blessing to go through what he went through and be healthy now. Miracles really do happen.

Learning and retaining: Speaking of miracles...it has been a miracle that I have been able to learn what I have in training for booking. SO MUCH INFO...to remember and do. Praying that I will have a good week, retain what I learned last week and be open to learn new things this week.

Signs: Simple little things that happen around me that bring memories of loved ones gone before. Like the smell of a certain flower,  a little humming bird fluttering around and the warm fuzzy feeling of someone near.

HERE IT IS AGAIN...

I am thankful for:

Text messaging: I love the fact the if I have a question or want to say something but don't have time to make a phone call, I can text and usually get a reply back quickly. Pete and I stay in contact all day by texting, I can ask him to come by and see me on a break, to meet at Starbucks, that I am thinking about him, I miss him or that I love him. I love the fact that I can talk to my kids at anytime. I can also hook up with my friends by making plans by texting. Such a simple thing but so convenient.

Military men & women: So thankful and grateful for all they sacrifice, to give us so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, come home safely. To all the ones that gave their lives and their families who sacrificed so much...THANK YOU!!!! Let us never forget or take anything for granted.

Getting over some of my fears: I was always afraid of failing...now I realize that is how we grow and it doesn't really mean you failed at something. It was a really hard lesson to learn. I always worried about what other people would think...now I don't give a crap because they are probably struggling with the same thing. As long as you learn the lesson and can move on taking the experience with you with a positive attitude. I have come so far...places I never thought I would reach. BUT...I know I have someone by my side, who answers prayers, sometimes not the way I want them answered but turns out for the best anyway. I am so glad I have Heavenly Father on my side.

THE WEEKS ARE FLYING BY

I am thankful for:

Not running out of gas: I was supposed to stop and get gas on my way home from work. I forgot and headed down the canyon...yikes!! I prayed hard that I would make it to the freeway and the first gas station. My prayers were answered.

Great Husband: He is my partner in everything and my biggest supporter. He has faith in me like no one else. He is my best friend, my "court jester", my everything. I love you PJ!!!

Washer and Dryer: I am so glad I can do laundry when ever I want: morning, noon and night. I remember those days of living in an appartment and have to go to the laundry room or the laundry mat. Simple pleasures in life.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!

THE WEEKS ARE...

FLYING BY.
I am thankful for:

Birthdays: Pete and I were able to get away this weekend and celebrate the big 46th birthday. We had a great time. It was nice to get away and just spend some time together.  Birthdays are always fun even if I am getting old. hahahaha  I also thought alot about my mom and to think 46 years ago she was in the hospital with a new little baby. I miss you mom!!!

Staying awake: I have been so fortunate since starting work that I have been ableto sleep during the day, getting enough rest to stay awake all night. I have enjoyed it more that I thought I would. It does mess my system up a little but it hasn't been bad at all. Hope I am able to keep it up and keep learning new things at work.

Blogs: I have been able to keep up with Layla, Jen is so good to post pictures and videos of the little nugget. I have been able to find old friends, new friends and family and keep up with them. I have relationships with them that would never happen without the Blogs.

New shoes: Yeah, I am a shoe person like my mom. I love shoes!!! You know you have to match your shoes with your clothes...everyone knows that, right? Yeah, tell my husband. hahahahaha
 I love you PJ.

AGAIN WE ARE BACK TO THURSDAY...

I am thankful for:

Memories of Mom: I have so many great memories of my mom that help me get through each day. I am so lucky to have known her, been loved by her and to have seen her beautiful BIG eyes and to hear her laugh. She loved life and loved her family. I do miss talking to her and hearing her wisdom. I know she is still with us and watches over us. Love you mom and miss you like crazy!!!

Lemon tarts: Lemon tarts from Starbucks...YUMMY!!!! They are like little miniture lemon pies and they hit the spot. I try not to have them too much but they are addictive. Also See's has a really good lemon filled chocolate and a lime filled chocolate. Okay, I am done talking about goodies, but I am thankful for them.

Sunrises: I get to see the most beautiful sunrises everyday on my way home from work. Everyday is so different with the weather and the clouds. Pictures would not do it any justice. Then when I almost reach home the sun is just rising and it is bright orange. It it just amazing!!!

Massages: I am hooked plain and simple. In fact I could use another one real soon. It will be nice not to be so stressed at work. I love my job but I worry too much, thanks mom!!! hahaha

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN

I am thankful for:

Gas prices: I know gas prices are not as low as they could be, but, they are not sky high like they used to be either. With two of us commuting it is nice not to be too expensive.

Quality time: Since I started back to work and work long hours, basically when I work, I work, sleep and commute. It is so nice to have quality time with my husband and kids. We were able to spend some great time together on my days off.

Under Armour: Most of Pete's golf shirts are made out of this, our under shirts we wear under our uniforms are made out of this and most of Pete's T shirts are made out of this. They wash up great, I can throw them in the washer and dryer and they come out great. It makes life so much easier. Matt wears them too. I also love the exercise clothes made out of the same fabric. But the best thing about it....I don't have to iron it!

Blessing: I know everyday I am surrounded by small miracles. I will never take anything for granted. I am truely blessed.

WEEKS FLY BY...

I am thankful for:

My kids: It was so nice to have Jen and her family her for Easter and we got to celebrate little Layla's first birthday. It has been an eye opening experience to see the cycle of life and how it all comes together. Pete and I are so proud of our kids and know they will continue to grow, learn and become great people.

My job: I have wanted this job for so long and have worked my tail off to get it. I am still in the learning process, which I am sure I will be learning something new everyday. I am so proud of myself and what I have accomplished, I NEVER in a million years thought I would ever be where I am today.

Losing weight: I am so glad I was able to lose at over 30 pounds, I feel better, I am more active and it is so much eaiser to wear the uniform. I know that I was blessed with getting the job at Costco to get me in shape and prepare me for getting sick with all the germs and crap. ahahhahaa. I just have to keep motivated to exercise and eat healthy.

Jamba Juice: I love not eating something heavy and they have a great new oatmeal, Yummy!!!

SO THANKFUL

I am thankful for:

Blessings: I have been so blessed, Period!!!!! I have had to come out of my comfort zone and do things I NEVER thought I would be able to do. I have had to take so many tests this week and train in things I NEVER thought I would have to learn. My brain is exhausted. I don't know that without the blessings and my faith I would have survived. I know my Heavenly Father is with me and my mom is my cheerleader. I continue to have faith that they will be with me through this whole process.

Layla: I am so blessed to be a grandma to the cutest little nugget. She has taught me new things by looking at life through her eyes. Happy Birthday baby girl.

Family: Thanks guys for supporting me and encouraging me. Thanks for all your help around the house. I don't know what I would do without you all.

Jamba Juice: I was not able to eat because of nerves, but Jamba Juice saved me.

ANOTHER WEEK...

I am thankful for:

Big and small blessings: I think everyday how truely blessed I am. I see tiny miracles happen around me all the time. I cannot take anything for granted. Every day is a blessing and another day we get to be together.

Memories: I have so many great memories of my childhood, my family, my friends and of raising my kids. My grandma Starich had Dementia and it was so sad to see her not remember things. It was just not like her and it was hard to see it happen to someone you love. I have an aunt that is also suffering with the same disease.

My Camera: I would be so sad without my camera. I love having pictures (old and new) around me. I love trying to get that one shot, the best one, the funny one, the serious one. I hope to one day take a class and learn even more about photography. Until then I will continue to have my camera and take the pictures that mean alot to me.

My Cell phone: It is nice to know I can get in touch with my family if I need to. Also I am just a phone call away for them. I like having a cell phone while I am traveling, it just gives me comfort to know I can call if I need to. OH, and Jen always sends me cute pictures of Layla on my phone, which makes my day.

C O Bigelow Lip shine: My lips are so dry and hurt so much this week.

THE WEEKS ARE FLYING BY...

I am thankful for:

Lost Friends Found: I found a long lost friend, by finding her sister on my cousins blog, who then gave me her blog address...I have pictures coming up as soon as I learn how to work my new scanner. Anyway, so thankful for past friendships that continue on.

New jobs: I can look back now through all the waiting and be so thankful I start my new job on April 6th, especially with the economy being the way it is right now. I just got my uniforms, belt and sweater all bought and the patches put on. Now I have to get black socks and boots. Can't wait to get to work and start learning.

Being a grandma: I absolutley love my little grand-daughter. I am thankful that her mommy takes so many great pictures and videos so we can share in her days and see her learn and grow. I love being a grandma and spoiling her rotten. I am thankful she has gotten over being sick.

ANOTHER WEEK

I am thankful for:

Spring: The sun has been out, the blossoms are blooming and and the birds are singing. The little leaves are starting to come out on the trees. It is so nice to open the blinds and see the beautiful day. (Well I need to wash my windows and pull a few weeds).

Friends: I am so grateful for my friends, old and new. I have found many old friends on facebook and have been able to catch up with them which has been really fun. I have old friends that have moved away or we have been seperated through the years but we can pick up where we left off. I also have my friends from everyday that mean the world to me.

The Web: I am so thankful for the internet. I get to see my little grand-daughter everyday. I get to see her cute little faces she pulls, her personality and what she is up to. Thanks to Jen for taking the pictures and putting them on the internet for me. Also for all the cute little videos. It makes me think about when we moved away from my mom and dad, I would send pictures to them through snail mail. I know they were excited to get the pictures but having the internet makes it so much faster and easier.

Blessings: I am so blessed. I know that Heavenly Father touches my life every moment of everyday. I try to remember to "Take time for the quiet moments because God whispers and the world is loud".

THE WEEKS ARE FLYING BY

I am thankful for:

New cars: I don't like buying them but I love the smell of a new car. I love my new car and am so thankful that I don't have to commute in my truck.

Insurance: I am thankful that we have insurance. I can't imagine how we would live without it. I am thankful that we are all pretty healthy but it is nice to know it is there if we need it.

Marie Calendars: Hamburger, fries and a piece of pie, all for $7.99. Oh, an extra dollar if you want cheese. Yummy, and it hits the spot.

Tax lady: Wow, we got our taxes done thinking we would not be getting a lot back this year but that it would all be okay...nice surprise!!! It is always nice when you don't have to pay uncle Sam anymore than what he already takes and then you get a nice refund.

THE WEEKS FLY BY...

...AND IT IS THAT TIME AGAN.
I am thankful for:

Food, Fun and Friends: I am so thankful for old friends, new friends and fun times...and of course don't forget the food. Thanks guys, maybe if I rub shoulders with you I might be as lucky. LOL.

New Experiences: I had to take my psych this week. I was really nervous and had never been through anything like that. I found it to be very interesting and glad I did it. I found out some great things about myself and how blessed I am to have been raised by great parents.

Growth: I am thankful for I guess the growth and wisdom that comes with age. I have learned many things about myself. I have come to realize what is important, not to worry so much and to take time for the little things.

The Intetnet: I have found family and friends, new and old, it has been so much fun to catch up and remember the good times...to also make new memories and look forward to the future.

ANOTHER WEEK...

I am thankful for:

Supportive Family: The 3 year anniversary of mom's passing was on Monday. It has been comforting to know even though mom is gone I can still call upon my dad and my siblings for anything. It is nice to know through tradgedy we have grown closer and support each other. Thanks you guys for always having my back.

Wisdom of a wonderful aunt: "Remember, life is only understood backward, but has to be lived forward. Someday we will understand why certian things happened." Thanks Aunt Claudia, I always go back to this when I am trying to understand life.

Patience: I am still learning patience and there is a reason for everything. It is funny how the above quote really does makes sense after the fact. Sometimes you think the worst has happened and you come to realize it happened to prepare you for what is yet to come and then it all makes sense.

My husband: When I am frustrated or having a bad day he always tells me "No matter what, we are always a team". We have been through so much in 25+ years together I know we can get through anything as long as we have each other. He is my best friend and more.
