A LITTLE EXCITEMENT

Jen called me yesterday while I was getting ready for work. She was in the hospital. She was having stomach pains so Jeremy finally took her to the hospital. They admitted her and ran some tests. They finally found that her appendix were inflamed and if they didn't get them out they might burst. So she went into surgery about 10pm my time. Jeremy's mom came and picked up Layla and kept her for the night. Jeremy was so good, he kept texting me to keep me updated. It was so hard to be so far away and not be there to help. I know whenever I was or am sick I always want my mom.
Jen came home this morning and is resting. Jeremy's mom brought Layla home shortly after they got home from the hospital. Jen text me, Layla hit her in the stomach, she just wanted her mommy.

Layla fighting her daddy to get to her mommy.

It is so hard to know your baby is sick and you can't be there for them.
Jen, I hope you are feeling better and back on your feet in no time.
We love you and are so glad everything went well.

Happy Anniversary...

Wow, Jen and Jeremy celebrated their 1st Anniversary today.
This is the announcment Pete and I sent out for their elopement...
As I look back a year I remember how I felt when Jen called to tell us they were engaged. I was so excited and thoughts of planning a wedding with her went through my head. All the things we had to plan and do. I felt a little overwelmed, stressed but so excited. I had always dreamed of this day.

Then she let us know we were going to be grand-parents. Okay, I can handle that and we were so excited for them. I did feel bad for her with her morning sickness, as I could so relate.

Then...she let me know they were eloping. Wow, I could totally understand why. Trying to plan a wedding while she was in Mississippi, Jeremy was in Nebraska and us in California, etc. But...On the other hand I went through alot of emotions and felt so cheated. I always imagined myself being there when my daughter got married. I understood it was what they wanted and I respected that. It was hard and I was on a roller coaster of emotion. Thank goodness I have such a wonderful husband that helped me through all that. Jen was really good to send lots of pictures and let me know how wonderful it was...except for the morning sickness. I really was happy for them.

Pete and I finally met Jeremy and our precious little grand-daughter. We feel like Jen picked out the perfect partner for her and they are happy. That is what is important. We love them and hope all their dreams come true!!
New parents, tired but in love
Layla Grace, we could not be more proud.I hope they had a great anniversary and wishing them many more to come.

Miles apart...

Even though we are miles apart, I can pull up The New Chastain family blog and catch up with them. Thank you so much Jenna for keeping it updated so granpa and granma can still share your life and watch that precious little one of yours grow and change.
You are a great little mommy and it has been so fun watching you. I know it is hard right now with Jeremy gone. I admire your courage. You have always been a strong independant woman. You are so cute with Layla, she knows and loves her mommy and daddy. Thanks for sharing her with us.

We can't wait to see you in Utah. It will be fun for the family to see you again and catch up. They will love your little one too. Give her kisses from all of us in Cali. Tell Jeremy "hi" for us as well. Love ya.

Counting the days...

We are counting down the days for Jen and Layla to visit.
5 more days!!!
We are so excited for them to get here.
Wendi and Matt have not met Layla yet, so this is going to be really fun for them to meet her.
Of course it is always nice when Jen comes home.
By the way Jen, I love your hair.
Well, I think we are ready for their arrival.
Layla will have a bed and of course her famous boppy,
let's just hope she doesn't catapolt out of the bed.
Jeremy, wish you were coming too.
Just want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers, stay safe and hurry home.

To Papa Buddy, we wish we were closer. We think of you always. Thanks for being a great dad and grandpa. We love you and will see you soon.

To Jeremy, a brand new daddy. We are so honored to have you as a part of our family. Thanks for being a great husband to Jen. Thanks for being a wonderful daddy to Layla! It has been fun watching you with Layla. Hope you had a great fathers day.
To all the service men at home and out there away from their families. We hope you had the best fathers day you could have away from your families and we hope you come home soon. Thanks for serving our country and for sacrificing all you do so we can all enjoy our freedom. With much love and support you are always in our prayers.
