MERRY CHRISTMAS...2009

Pete and I had to work this Christmas. The kids worked up until Christmas and the days after. They wanted to sleep in and have pizza for dinner, so that is what they got. We celebrated Christmas with them on Christmas eve then had Christmas dinner on the Monday after.
May we keep the Spirit of Christmas in our hearts all year long.

Christmas....

Pete and Wendi went to Sacramento Christmas eve day and took Pete's mom out to lunch. Matt and I had to work. After we got off work we all went to dinner, came home opened a couple of presents which was new jammies and a new ornament. Then we grabbed our blankets, headed for the truck and went driving around looking at Christmas lights.Christmas day was awesome, we slept in. When everyone was awake we opened presents. We all got dressed and headed out to Starbucks, had a warm drink and a pastry. Got a few groceries and headed home to start dinner. We had ham, which was part of the half pig Pete won from the NPOA this summer, we had scalloped potatoes and all the trimmings. The best chocolate pie from Costco, Yummy!!

Wendi in her room putting all her Christmas presents away. Matt wrestling with his wrestling dummy.

Body Bag???

The doorbell rang the other day.
I went to the door and found this black body bag laying on the sidewalk.
Thank goodness I remembered we ordered a 120 body punching/wrestling bag for Matt for Christmas.
For a second there I really thought it was a body.
I had Matt help me bring it in the house and wondered what the neighbors thought.
Then I started laughing, wondering what the delivery man thought.
I actually wonder if they x-rayed it to see what it really was.
So Matt and I had a good laugh.
Here it lays until Christmas.
Oh, then of course some old friends from church dropped by to visit and bring goodies...
here lays the body bag.
This is another body that seems to be laying around.
Hahahaha
I came into the family room and here was Matt.
He was cold, tired and sound asleep.

What a surprise...

I worked today...Matt and Wendi were home all day.
Matt put the tree up...Wendi decorated it, put all the Christmas out and put up the lights outside. So when I drove up to the house from work this is what I saw.
This one is without the flash so the lights show up better.
Wendi posing...hahaha
I have gone with a smaller Christmas tree this year, I really want to find 3 trees different sizes.
6 foot, 5 foot and 4 foot.
The ones that look like real trees and looks like it has a real trunk.
They are kinda country looking.
Let us always remember
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Thank you Wendi for all your hard work, now hurry out of the shower so we can have our hot chocolate.

Arlington at Christmas...

I had no idea this was done.
I am so impressed.
Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell...
You may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. Of Harrington, Maine.
The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well.
He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy.
Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out.
Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.
May God bless our soldiers, the ones who are away from home please bring them home safe.
Also for the families that have lost loved ones, you have given the greatest sacrifice.
We thank you all for your sacrifices and for all you do so that we may be free.
May you and your families all have a Merry Christmas.

Christmas lights

It's that time of year again.
The wife has been on my case to get the Christmas lights up for a couple of weeks.
They are up now and for some reason she won't talk to me.
My friend Cheri emailed this to me and I laughed so hard because this is something my dad or my husband would do.
