JUST DO IT...

WORK, BUT ENJOY THE BEAUTY...

I am almost done with my 6 months of day shift...on to 6 months of graveyards.
I did enjoy days, I learned a lot and met some great people.
In the mornings on my break, which was way to early to call my family, I would leave the building...
climb the stairs to the parking garage...
walk around the top of the parking garage and enjoy the beauty of the morning. (I wish I would have had my nice camera, these were taken with my phone.) It was so peaceful early in the morning, the leaves were changing and the sun was rising. Views from the top of the parking garage next to the jail.

I do miss seeing the hot air balloons in the early morning...what a beautiful sight.

Take time to enjoy the scenery, there is beauty all around.

CONGRATS...

...to my sister for becoming a first time grandma.

Child Of My Child

Child of my child, heart of my heart. Your smile bridges the years between us. I am young again, discovering the world through your eyes. You have the time to listen and I have the time to spend. Delighted to gaze at familiar, loved features made new in you again. Through you, I see the future. Through me, you'll see the past. In the present, we'll love one another as long as these moments last.
*Thanks to my friend Peggy, I stole this poem off her blog.

One of the greatest blessings in life is becoming a grandparent.

Plus Michael is doing well on his fight with cancer.
Keep up the good work on both!!!

SOMEONE CAME TO VISIT...

Jen and Jeremy were not able to come for the holidays so they flew out in January. Wendi and Matt picked them up at the airport, Pete and I had to work. Layla was a little shy when she first saw Wendi...
...but she soon warmed up to her and off they went. Best Friends Forever!
We had such a great visit. It was so nice to have them home. Now they are gone and my heart hurts. I am behind on my blogging because I was busy playing with them. I will try and catch up with happenings and pictures.

LONG HANDLED SPOON...

A holy man was having a conversation with God one day and said,
'God, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'
God led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.
In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.
They were holding spoons with very long handles, that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.
But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
God said, 'You have seen Hell.'

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water.
The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, 'I don't understand.'
It is simple,' said God. 'It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.'

Remember that I will always share my spoon with you!
